Hi, I'm Kate Green, an abstract artist from Cambridge in the UK. I describe myself as a Song Painter, using paint to 'sing with colour'. Visceral, visual utterances of shape, hue and mark are my vocabulary. I'm passionate about colour partnered with movement, pattern and mess! I'm excited by the extravagant dimensions and intricate details in creation – a joyfulness in the very act of creating that I aims to reflect in my own work. Seeking to represent things unseen, going beyond the ordinary.
I am excited by the potential of abstract art, 'colour stories', to communicate things of heaven. I believe that colour has a whole language of it's own, revealing grace in fresh and accessible ways to everyone and anyone. I have created more than 90 pieces of live art, in the last few years, in a variety of places from festivals to hospitals, from schools to shopping centres, sometimes before audiences of over 3000. I head up the arts ministry in my local church and regularly serve as artist in residence at a number of Christian conferences. I am passionate about enabling people to engage with God through their creativity. |
