A live art event

CLARITY - painted live at City Church Cambridge Carol Service
When I was invited to paint at this event, I was told what that the theme of the talk would be (Wonderful Counsellor), I knew there would be low lighting (so brought my own clip on lamps) and I checked with the organiser how much of the event they wanted me to paint for (during the drinks before? stop during the talk? etc), so I knew how long I had to paint.
It was an interesting occasion to paint at - it was much more formal that I am used to with stand up, sit down performances from the choir and carol singing and readings (rather than a lively time of worship), I felt a bit like the weird one in the corner messing with paint while everyone else was being the grown ups! There were a number of moments when I had to stop as it was too quiet and any painting noises felt like they would be a distraction, then I'd take up painting furiously again when the singing became loud.
It was particularly lovely as there were many guests at this event, both people from other churches and those not used to church at all. They were fascinated with what I was up to and why, and I had some lovely conversations at the end with a number of folks all quite excited and surprised to see live art.
Once finished off at home in my studio (about 30 mins more) I displayed my picture on my easel at church over the Christmas period with a print out of the title and focus of the piece. The painting is now available for purchase. The original is £720 and available HERE and I have high quality giclee prints available in a range of sizes starting at £40 HERE.
